Hammam says that once a guest stayed with Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her). Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) ordered that her yellow blanket be given to him. He covered himself with it and slept. In his sleep, he became obligated to perform ghusl (ritual bath). He felt ashamed to return the blanket with stains of impurity, so he washed it with water and then sent it back to Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her). Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) said, "Why did he ruin our blanket? It would have been sufficient for him to scrape it off with his fingers. Many times I have also scraped it off the Prophet’s (peace be upon him) clothes with my fingers."
