حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْأَعْلَى ، عَنْ مَعْمَرٍ ، عَنْ الزُّهْرِيِّ ، عَنْ عُرْوَةَ بْنِ الزُّبَيْرِ ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ ، أَنَّهَا قَالَتْ : أَقْسَمَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَنْ لَا يَدْخُلَ عَلَى نِسَائِهِ شَهْرًا ، قَالَتْ : فَلَبِثَ تِسْعًا وَعِشْرِينَ ، قَالَتْ : فَكُنْتُ أَوَّلَ مَنْ بَدَأَ بِهِ ، فَقُلْتُ لِلنَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : أَلَيْسَ كُنْتَ أَقْسَمْتَ شَهْرًا ؟ فَعَدَّتْ الْأَيَّامُ تِسْعًا وَعِشْرِينَ ، فَقَالَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " الشَّهْرُ تِسْعٌ وَعِشْرُونَ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) that once the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) took an oath that he would not go to his pure wives for a month. Twenty-nine days passed, and the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said, "Sometimes a month is also of twenty-nine days."
