حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ سَلَمَةَ ، عَنْ خُصَيْفٍ ، وَمَرْوَانَ بْنِ شُجَاعٍ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنِي خُصَيْفٌ ، عَنْ مُجَاهِدٍ ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ ، وَقَالَ : مَرْوَانُ ، سَمِعْتُ عَائِشَةَ ، تَقُولُ قَالَتْ : لَمَّا نَهَى رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ عَنْ لُبْسِ الذَّهَبِ ، قُلْنَا : يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ، أَلَا نَرْبِطُ الْمِسْكَ بِشَيْءٍ مِنْ ذَهَبٍ ؟ قَالَ : " أَفَلَا تَرْبِطُونَهُ بِالْفِضَّةِ ، ثُمَّ تَلْطَخُونَهُ بِزَعْفَرَانَ ، فَيَكُونَ مِثْلَ الذَّهَبِ ؟ " . .
It is narrated from Hazrat Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) that when the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) forbade wearing gold, we said, "O Messenger of Allah! Can we not take a little gold and mix musk with it?" The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said, "Why do you not mix it with silver, then blend it with saffron, so that the silver will also become like gold."
