Hadith 24028

أَنْبَأَنَا بِشْرُ بْنُ الْمُفَضَّلِ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عُثْمَانَ ، عَنْ يُوسُفَ بْنِ مَاهَكَ ، قَالَ : دَخَلْنَا عَلَى حَفْصَةَ بِنْتِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ ، فَأَخْبَرَتْنَا أَنَّ عَائِشَةَ أَخْبَرَتْهَا ، أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، قَالَ : " عَنِ الْغُلَامِ شَاتَانِ مُكَافَأَتَانِ ، وَعَنِ الْجَارِيَةِ شَاةٌ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: For a boy, two equal goats should be sacrificed for aqeeqah, and for a girl, one goat.
