Musnad Ahmad — Hadith 24009/18
حدثنا يزيد ، أَخبرنا أَيُّوب بن عُتبةَ ، عن قيس بن طَلْق ، عن أبيه ، أَن رجلًا سأَل النبيَّ صَلَّي اللهُ عَلَّيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ عن الصلاة في الثَّوب الواحد ، وعلى رسولِ الله صَلَّي اللهُ عَلَّيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ثَوْبانِ ، فطارَقَ بينهما فَتوشَّح به ، ثم صَلَّى فيه ، فلمّا سَلَّمَ قال : " أكُلُّكم يَجِدُ ثَوْبَينِ ؟ ! "
Yazid narrated to us, Ayyoob ibn Utbah informed us, from Qays ibn Talq, from his father, that a man asked the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, about praying in a single garment, and the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, was wearing two garments, so he joined them together and wrapped himself with them, then prayed in them. When he finished, he said: "Does every one of you find two garments?!"
