Musnad Ahmad — Hadith 24009/14
حدثنا يزيدُ بن هارون ، أَخبرنا محمَّد بن إِسحاقَ ، عن يعقوب بن عبد الله بن الأَشجِّ ، عن أَبي أُمامة بن سَهْل بن حُنَيف ، عن سعيد بن سعد بن عُبادة ، قال : كان بينَ أَبياتِنا رُوَيجِلٌ ضعيفٌ سَقيمٌ مخْدَجٌ ، فلم يَرُع الحيَّ إلا وهو على أَمَةٍ من إمائِهم يَخبُثُ بها ، قال : فذكر ذلك سعدُ بن عُبادة لرسول الله صَلَّي اللهُ عَلَّيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، وكان ذلك الرُّوَيجلُ مُسلِمًا ، فقال رسول الله صَلَّي اللهُ عَلَّيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " اضرِبُُوه حَدَّه " ، فقالوا : يا رسول الله ، إِنَّه أَضعفُ من ذاك ، ولو ضربناه مئةً قتلناه ! فقال : " خُذُوا له عِثْكالًا فيه مِئةُ شِمْراخٍ ، ثم اضرِبُوه به ضربةً واحدةً " ، قال : ففعلوا
Yazid ibn Harun narrated to us, Muhammad ibn Ishaq informed us, from Yaqub ibn Abdullah ibn al-Ashajj, from Abu Umamah ibn Sahl ibn Hunayf, from Sa'id ibn Sa'd ibn 'Ubada, who said: There was among our houses a weak, sick, deformed little man, and the people were surprised to find him with one of their slave women, behaving lewdly with her. Sa'd ibn 'Ubada mentioned this to the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, and that little man was a Muslim. The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "Administer to him the prescribed punishment." They said: O Messenger of Allah, he is weaker than that; if we strike him a hundred times, we will kill him! He said: "Take for him a bundle containing a hundred twigs, then strike him with it once." He said: So they did.
