حَدَّثَنَا هُشَيْمٌ ، قَالَ : أَنْبَأَنَا دَاوُدُ بْنُ عَمْرٍو ، عَنْ بُسْرِ بْنِ عُبَيْدِ اللَّهِ الْحَضْرَمِيِّ ، عَنْ أَبِي إِدْرِيسَ الْخَوْلَانِيِّ ، عَنْ عَوْفِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ الْأَشْجَعِيِّ ، أَنّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ " أَمَرَ بِالْمَسْحِ عَلَى الْخُفَّيْنِ فِي غَزْوَةِ تَبُوكَ : ثَلَاثَةُ أَيَّامٍ لِلْمُسَافِرِ وَلَيَالِيهِنَّ ، وَلِلْمُقِيمِ يَوْمٌ وَلَيْلَةٌ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Auf (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) in the Battle of Tabuk ordered travelers to wipe over their leather socks for three days and nights, and residents for one day and night.
