It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Rafi’ (may Allah be pleased with him) that once he cooked meat in a pot for the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him). The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said, “Give me its foreleg.” So I took it out and gave it to him. After a little while, the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) asked for another foreleg, and I gave that too. After a little while, the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) again asked for a foreleg. I said, “O Messenger of Allah! How many forelegs does a goat have?” The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said, “By Him in Whose hand is my soul, if you had remained silent, forelegs would have continued to come out from this pot as long as I kept asking you for them.”
