حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ آدَمَ ، حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ مُبَارَكٍ ، عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ يَزِيدَ ، عَنْ يَزِيدَ بْنِ أَبِي حَبِيبٍ ، أَنَّ أَبَا بَصْرَةَ خَرَجَ فِي رَمَضَانَ مِنَ الْإِسْكَنْدَرِيَّةِ ، فأُتِيَ بِطَعَامِهِ ، فَقِيلَ لَهُ : لَمْ تَغِبْ عَنَّا مَنَازِلُنَا بَعْدُ ! فَقَالَ : " أَتَرْغَبُونَ عَنْ سُنَّةِ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ؟ " قَالَ : فَمَا زِلْنَا مُفْطِرِينَ حَتَّى بَلَغُوا مَكَانَ كَذَا وَكَذَا .
Yazid bin Abi Habib says that once Hazrat Abu Basrah (may Allah be pleased with him) set out from Alexandria during the month of Ramadan. On the way, food was presented to him. Someone said to him, "Now the city is not far from here." He replied, "Are you turning away from the Sunnah of the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him)?" The narrator says that then, until we reached such-and-such place, we continued to break the fast.
