Tawoos (may Allah have mercy on him) says that once I asked Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) that people think that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Even if you are not in a state of major impurity, still perform ghusl (ritual bath) on the day of Jumu'ah, wash your head, and apply perfume"? Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) replied that I do not know about the perfume, but the matter of ghusl is correct.
