It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Salamah (may Allah be pleased with him) that his parents brought their case concerning him to the service of the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him). One of my parents was a Muslim and the other was a disbeliever. The Holy Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) turned towards the disbeliever and said, "O Allah! Grant him guidance," and then turned towards the Muslim and decided the matter concerning me in his favor.
