حَدَّثَنَا يَعْقُوبُ ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبِي ، عَنِ ابْنِ إِسْحَاقَ ، حَدَّثَنَا يَزِيدُ بْنُ أَبِي حَبِيبٍ ، عَنْ رَجُلٍ مِنْ بَنِي عَبْدِ الْقَيْسِ ، عَنْ سَلْمَانَ الْخَيْرِ ، قَالَ : لَمَّا قُلْتُ : وَأَيْنَ تَقَعُ هَذِهِ مِنَ الَّذِي عَلَيَّ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ؟ ! أَخَذَهَا رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَقَلَّبَهَا عَلَى لِسَانِهِ ، ثُمَّ قَالَ : " خُذْهَا فَأَوْفِهِمْ مِنْهَا " ، فَأَخَذْتُهَا فَأَوْفَيْتُهُمْ مِنْهَا حَقَّهُمْ كُلَّهُ أَرْبَعِينَ أُوقِيَّةً .
Hazrat Salman (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that when I said, "O Messenger of Allah! How will this amount, which is due upon me, be fulfilled?" The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) took it, passed it over his blessed tongue, and said, "Take it and pay their due from it." So I took it and paid them their full right, that is, forty uqiyah.
