حَدَّثَنَا مُعَاوِيَةُ بْنُ عَمْرٍو ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو إِسْحَاقَ ، عَنْ زَائِدَةَ ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ إِسْحَاقَ ، عَنْ جَمِيلِ بْنِ أَبِي مَيْمُونَةَ ، عَنْ أَبِي زَكَرِيَّا الْخُزَاعِيِّ ، عَنْ سَلْمَانَ ، أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقُولُ : " رِبَاطُ يَوْمٍ وَلَيْلَةٍ فِي سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ كَصِيَامِ شَهْرٍ وَقِيَامِهِ ، إِنْ مَاتَ جَرَى عَلَيْهِ أَجْرُ الْمُرَابِطِ حَتَّى يُبْعَثَ ، وَيُؤْمَنَ الْفَتَّانَ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Salman Farsi (may Allah be pleased with him) that he heard the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) say: Whoever guards the borders for one day or one night, it is as if he fasted for a month while waiting for his turn. And whoever dies while guarding the borders in the way of Allah, Allah continues his reward and also the reward of the deeds he used to do, such as prayer, fasting, and spending in the way of Allah. He will be protected from the trial of the grave and will be safe from the great terror.
