حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ الْمُقْرِيُّ ، وَعَفَّانُ ، قَالَا : حَدَّثَنَا دَاوُدُ بْنُ أَبِي الْفُرَاتِ ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ زَيْدٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي شُرَيْحٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي مُسْلِمٍ مَوْلَى زَيْدِ بْنِ صُوحَانَ الْعَبْدِيِّ ، قَالَ : كُنْتُ مَعَ سَلْمَانَ الْفَارِسِيِّ ، فَرَأَى رَجُلًا قَدْ أَحْدَثَ ، وَهُوَ يُرِيدُ أَنْ يَنْزِعَ خُفَّيْهِ لِلْوُضُوءِ ، فَأَمَرَهُ سَلْمَانُ أَنْ يَمْسَحَ عَلَى خُفَّيْهِ وَعَلَى عِمَامَتِهِ وَيَمْسَحَ بِنَاصِيَتِهِ ، وَقَالَ سَلْمَانُ : رَأَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ " مَسَحَ عَلَى خُفَّيْهِ وَعَلَى خِمَارِهِ " .
Abu Muslim (rahimahullah) says that once I was with Hazrat Salman Farsi (may Allah be pleased with him) when he saw a man who had become impure and wanted to take off his leather socks. Hazrat Salman Farsi (may Allah be pleased with him) instructed him to wipe over the socks and the turban, and to wipe the amount of his forehead, and said: I saw the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) wiping over his leather socks and his turban (head covering).
