حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ ، حَدَّثَنَا مَعْمَرٌ ، عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ ، عَنِ ابْنِ أَبِي صُعَيْرٍ ، عَنْ جَابِرِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ، قَالَ : لَمَّا كَانَ يَوْمُ أُحُدٍ أَشْرَفَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ عَلَى الشُّهَدَاءِ الَّذِينَ قُتِلُوا يَوْمَئِذٍ ، فَقَالَ : " زَمِّلُوهُمْ بِدِمَائِهِمْ ، فَإِنِّي قَدْ شَهِدْتُ عَلَيْهِمْ " ، فَكَانَ يُدْفَنُ الرَّجُلَانِ وَالثَّلَاثَةُ فِي الْقَبْرِ الْوَاحِدِ ، وَيُسْأَلُ : " أَيُّهُمْ كَانَ أَقْرَأَ لِلْقُرْآنِ " فَيُقَدِّمُونَهُ ، قَالَ جَابِرٌ : فَدُفِنَ أَبِي وَعَمِّي يَوْمَئِذٍ فِي قَبْرٍ وَاحِدٍ.
It is narrated from Hazrat Abdullah bin Thalabah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) came to the martyrs of Uhud and said: "Wrap them in their shrouds with their blood. I bear witness regarding them." Then two or three people were buried in each grave, and the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "See! Among them, whoever has memorized the most Qur'an, place him in the grave first." Thus, my father and uncle were buried in the same grave.
