حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو سَلَمَةَ ، أَخْبَرَنَا عَبْدُ الْعَزِيزِ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ ، عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ أَبِي عَمْرٍو ، عَنْ عَاصِمِ بْنِ قَتَادَةَ ، عَنْ مَحْمُودِ بْنِ لَبِيدٍ ، أَنّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ : " إِنَّ اللَّهَ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ يَحْمِي عَبْدَهُ الْمُؤْمِنَ فِي الدُّنْيَا وَهُوَ يُحِبُّهُ ، كَمَا تَحْمُونَ مَرِيضَكُمْ الطَّعَامَ وَالشَّرَابَ تَخَافُونَ عَلَيْهِ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Mahmood bin Labeed (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Allah Almighty protects His servant whom He loves from the world just as you protect your sick ones from food and drink, and in the case of food, you fear that it may harm his health.
