Musnad Ahmad

Ya’ish bin Tikhfah (may Allah be pleased with him) says that my father was among the people of Suffah. The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) instructed people regarding them, so people began to take them with them one or two at a time. He says that only five men remained, among whom I was one. The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) said, “You people come with me.” So we went with the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) to the house of Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her). When the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) arrived there, he said, “Aisha! Serve us food.” She brought some dates, which we ate. Then she brought a little date halwa, which we also ate. Then the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) said, “Aisha! Serve us water.” So she brought water in a large bowl, from which we all drank. Then she brought a small bowl in which there was milk; we drank that as well. Then the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) said, “If you wish, you may spend the night here, or if you wish, go to the mosque.” I said, “No, we will go to the mosque.” At the time of suhoor, I was lying on my stomach sleeping when suddenly a man came and began to shake me with his foot and said, “This way of lying down is disliked by Allah Almighty.” I looked and saw that it was the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him).
