It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Humaid Sa’idi (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) appointed a man from the tribe of Azd, whose name was Ibn Lutbiyyah, to collect some charity. When he brought back the collected charity, he said, “This is for you, and this was given to me as a gift.” Upon hearing this, the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) ascended the pulpit and said, “What is the matter with these officials? We send them, and they return saying, ‘This is for you, and this was given to me as a gift.’ Why doesn’t he sit in his parents’ house and see whether he receives any gifts or not? By the One in Whose hand is the life of Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him), whoever among you brings anything, he will come on the Day of Resurrection with that thing on his neck: if it is a camel, it will be grunting; if it is a cow, it will be mooing; if it is a goat, it will be bleating.” Then the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) raised both his hands until we saw the whiteness of his blessed armpits, and he said three times, “O Allah! Have I conveyed (the message)?”
