حَدَّثَنَا هَاشِمُ بنُ الْقَاسِمِ ، حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبةُ ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بنِ أَبي لَيْلَى ، عَنْ أَخِيهِ ، عَنْ أَبيهِ ، عَنْ أَبي أَيُّوب ، عَنِ النَّبيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ : " إِذَا عَطَسَ أَحَدُكُمْ فَلْيَقُلْ : الْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ عَلَى كُلِّ حَالٍ ، وَلْيَقُلْ الَّذِي يُشَمِّتُهُ : يَرْحَمُكُمْ اللَّهُ ، وَلْيَقُلْ الَّذِي يَرُدُّ عَلَيْهِ : يَهْدِيكُمُ اللَّهُ وَيُصْلِحُ بالَكُمْ " . .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Ayyub Ansari (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: When any one of you sneezes, he should say "Alhamdulillah ala kulli haal" and the one who replies should say "Yarhamuk Allah" and the one who sneezed should say "Yahdikum Allah wa yuslihu balakum."
