حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بنُ سَعِيدٍ ، عَنْ هِشَامٍ ، حَدَّثَنَي يَحْيَى بنُ أَبي كَثِيرٍ ، عَنْ أَبي إِبرَاهِيمَ الَأَنْصَاريِّ ، أَنَّ أباه َحَدَّثَهُ أَوْ أَخْبرَهُ أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ النَّبيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقُولُ فِي الصَّلَاةِ عَلَى الْمَيِّتِ : " اللَّهُمَّ اغْفِرْ لِحَيِّنَا وَمَيِّتِنَا ، وَشَاهِدِنَا وَغَائِبنَا ، وَذَكَرِنَا وَأُنْثَانَا ، وَصَغِيرِنَا وَكَبيرِنَا " .
Hazrat Abu Ibrahim (may Allah have mercy on him) narrates from his father that when the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) offered the funeral prayer, he would supplicate: O Allah! Forgive our living and our deceased, our elders and our children, our men and our women, and those present and those absent.
