حَدَّثَنَا مُصْعَب بنُ سَلَّامٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا الْأَجْلَحُ ، عَنْ قَيْسِ بنِ أَبي مُسْلِمٍ ، عَنْ رِبعِيِّ بنِ حِرَاشٍ ، قَالَ : سَمِعْتُ حُذَيْفَةَ يَقُولُ : ضَرَب لَنَا رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَمْثَالًا وَاحِدًا وَثَلَاثَةً وَخَمْسَةً وَسَبعَةً وَتِسْعَةً وَأَحَدَ عَشَرَ ، قَالَ : فَضَرَب لَنَا رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ مِنْهَا مَثَلًا وَتَرَكَ سَائِرَهَا ، قَالَ : " إِنَّ قَوْمًا كَانُوا أَهْلَ ضَعْفٍ وَمَسْكَنَةٍ قَاتَلَهُمْ أَهْلُ تَجَبرٍ وَعَدَاءٍ ، فَأَظْهَرَ اللَّهُ أَهْلَ الضَّعْفِ عَلَيْهِمْ ، فَعَمَدُوا إِلَى عَدُوِّهِمْ فَاسْتَعْمَلُوهُمْ وَسَلَّطُوهُمْ ، فَأَسْخَطُوا اللَّهَ عَلَيْهِمْ إِلَى يَوْمِ يَلْقَوْنَهُ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Hudhaifa (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) presented before us examples of one, three, five, seven, nine, and eleven, some of which the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) explained at that time and left the rest, and said: There was a nation whose people were weak and poor; a powerful and numerous nation fought against them, so Allah granted dominance to the weak ones. They advanced towards their enemy, appointed their rulers over them, established authority over them, and became a cause of Allah’s displeasure upon them until they met Allah.
