حَدَّثَنَا عَبدُ الصَّمَدِ ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبدُ الْعَزِيزِ بنُ مُسْلِمٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بنُ عَبدِ اللَّهِ الْجَابرُ ، قَالَ : صَلَّيْتُ خَلْفَ عِيسَى مَوْلًى لِحُذَيْفَةَ بالْمَدَائِنِ عَلَى جَنَازَةٍ فَكَبرَ خَمْسًا ، ثُمَّ الْتَفَتَ إِلَيْنَا ، فَقَالَ : مَا وَهِمْتُ وَلَا نَسِيتُ ، وَلَكِنْ كَبرْتُ كَمَا كَبرَ مَوْلَايَ وَوَلِيُّ نِعْمَتِي حُذَيْفَةُ بنُ الْيَمَانِ ، صَلَّى عَلَى جَنَازَةٍ وَكَبرَ خَمْسًا ، ثُمَّ الْتَفَتَ إِلَيْنَا فَقَالَ : مَا نَسِيتُ وَلَا وَهِمْتُ ، وَلَكِنْ كَبرْتُ كَمَا " كَبرَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ , صَلَّى عَلَى جَنَازَةٍ فَكَبرَ خَمْسًا " .
Yahya bin Abdullah says that once I performed the funeral prayer behind Isa, the freed slave of Hazrat Hudhaifa (may Allah be pleased with him), in the city of Mada'in. He said five takbirs in the funeral prayer. Then, turning towards us, he said, "I have neither forgotten nor am I mistaken. I have said the takbirs in the same manner as my master and benefactor, Hazrat Hudhaifa bin Yaman (may Allah be pleased with him), used to say."
