حَدَّثَنَا زَيْدُ بنُ الْحُباب ، أَخْبرَنَا إِسْرَائِيلُ ، أَخْبرَنِي مَيْسَرَةُ بنُ حَبيب ، عَنْ الْمِنْهَالِ ، عَنْ زِرِّ بنِ حُبيْشٍ ، عَنْ حُذَيْفَةَ ، قَالَ قَالَتْ لِي أُمِّي : مَتَى عَهْدُكَ بالنَّبيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ؟ قَالَ : فَقُلْتُ : مَا لِي بهِ عَهْدٌ مُنْذُ كَذَا وَكَذَا ، قَالَ : فَهَمَّتْ بي ، فَقُلْتُ : يَا أُمَّهْ ، دَعِينِي حَتَّى أَذْهَب إِلَى النَّبيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَلَا أَدَعُهُ حَتَّى يَسْتَغْفِرَ لِي وَيَسْتَغْفِرَ لَكِ ، قَالَ : فَجِئْتُهُ فَصَلَّيْتُ مَعَهُ الْمَغْرِب ، " فَلَمَّا قَضَى الصَّلَاةَ قَامَ يُصَلِّي ، فَلَمْ يَزَلْ يُصَلِّي حَتَّى صَلَّى الْعِشَاءَ ، ثُمَّ خَرَجَ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Hudhaifa (may Allah be pleased with him) that once my mother asked me, "Since when have you been associated with the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him)?" I told her an estimate of the time. She began to scold and reproach me harshly. I said to her, "Step aside, I am going to the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him); I will perform the Maghrib prayer with him and will not leave him until he seeks forgiveness for both you and me." So I presented myself before the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and performed the Maghrib prayer with him. After that, the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) led the 'Isha prayer and then returned.
