Hadith 23421

حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ ، حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ ، عَنْ أَبي إِسْحَاقَ ، عَنْ عُبيْدِ بنِ الْمُغِيرَةِ ، عَنْ حُذَيْفَةَ ، قَالَ : كَانَ فِي لِسَانِي ذَرَب عَلَى أَهْلِي ، وَكَانَ ذَلِكَ لَا يَعْدُوهُمْ إِلَى غَيْرِهِمْ ، فَشَكَوْتُ ذَلِكَ إِلَى النَّبيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ : " فَأَيْنَ أَنْتَ مِنَ الِاسْتِغْفَارِ يَا حُذَيْفَةُ ؟ إِنِّي لَأَسْتَغْفِرُ اللَّهَ فِي الْيَوْمِ مِائَةَ مَرَّةٍ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Hudhaifa (may Allah be pleased with him) that when speaking with my family, I could not control my tongue, although this did not happen with others. I mentioned this to the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him), so the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Hudhaifa! Why are you negligent of seeking forgiveness? I myself repent and seek forgiveness from Allah a hundred times every day."
