Hadith 23418

حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ ، عَنْ ابنِ أَبي لَيْلَى ، عَنْ شَيْخٍ يُقَالُ لَهُ : هِلَالٌ ، عَنْ حُذَيْفَةَ ، قَالَ : وَسَأَلْتُ النَّبيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ عَنْ كُلِّ شَيْءٍ حَتَّى عَنْ مَسْحِ الْحَصَى ، فَقَالَ : " وَاحِدَةً أَوْ دَعْ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Hudhaifa (may Allah be pleased with him) that I asked the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) about everything, even about leveling pebbles during prayer. The Holy Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Level it once, otherwise leave it.
