Hadith 23259

It is narrated from Hazrat Hudhaifa (may Allah be pleased with him) that once the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said, "Count the people who profess Islam and tell me their number." We submitted, "O Messenger of Allah! Do you fear anything about us while we are between six and seven hundred?" The Holy Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said, "You do not know, it may be that you will be tested." Accordingly, when we were tested, each one of us could only pray secretly.
