Hadith 23212

حَدَّثَنَا سُرَيْجُ بنُ النُّعْمَانِ ، حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادٌ ، عَنْ خَالِدٍ الْحَذَّاءِ ، عَنْ عَبدِ اللَّهِ بنِ شَقِيقٍ ، عَنْ رَجُلٍ ، قَالَ : قُلْتُ : يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ، مَتَى جُعِلْتَ نَبيًّا ؟ قَالَ : " وَآدَمُ بيْنَ الرُّوحِ وَالْجَسَدِ " .
A companion (may Allah be pleased with him) says that I asked the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him), "O Messenger of Allah! When were you made a Prophet?" The Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) replied, "At the time when Adam (peace be upon him) was still between soul and body."
