It is narrated from a companion of Banu Yarbu‘ (may Allah be pleased with him) that once I was present in the service of the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), and I heard him saying during a conversation with the people: "The hand that gives is the upper hand. Spend on your mother, father, sister, brother, and then on relatives according to their closeness." A man submitted, "O Messenger of Allah! The Banu Tha‘labah bin Yarbu‘ have killed such-and-such a man." The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said, "No person will be held responsible for the crime of another."
