Hadith 23171

حَدَّثَنَا عَبدُ الرَّزَّاقِ ، أَخْبرَنَا مَعْمَرٌ ، عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ ، عَنْ حُمَيْدِ بنِ عَبدِ الرَّحْمَنِ ، عَنْ رَجُلٍ مِنْ أَصْحَاب النَّبيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، قَالَ : قَالَ رَجُلٌ : يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ، أَوْصِنِي ، قَالَ : " لَا تَغْضَب " ، قَالَ : قَالَ الرَّجُلُ : فَفَكَّرْتُ حِينَ قَالَ النَّبيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ مَا قَالَ ، فَإِذَا الْغَضَب يَجْمَعُ الشَّرَّ كُلَّهُ.
A companion asked the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, to advise him, so he advised him not to get angry. The companion who narrated this says: After hearing this instruction of the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, when I reflected, I realized that anger encompasses all evils.
