Hadith 23166

حَدَّثَنَا أَبو كَامِلٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادٌ يَعْنِي ابنَ سَلَمَةَ ، عَنْ عِكْرِمَةَ بنِ خَالِدٍ الْمَخْزُومِيِّ ، عَنْ أَبيهِ ، أَوْ عَمِّهِ ، عَنْ جَدِّهِ أَنّ النَّبيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ فِي غَزْوَةِ تَبوكَ : " إِذَا وَقَعَ الطَّاعُونُ بأَرْضٍ وَلَسْتُمْ بهَا ، فَلَا تَهْجُمُوا عَلَيْهَا ، وَإِذَا وَقَعَ بهَا وَأَنْتُمْ بهَا ، فَلَا تَخْرُجُوا مِنْهَا " .
It is narrated from the grandfather of Ikrimah bin Khalid (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said on the occasion of the Battle of Tabuk: When a plague spreads in a region and you are already present there, then do not leave that place, and if this epidemic spreads in your absence, then do not enter that region.
