حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بنُ جَعْفَرٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبةُ ، عَنْ حُصَيْنٍ ، عَنْ هِلَالِ بنِ يِسَافٍ ، عَنْ زَاذَانَ ، عَنْ رَجُلٍ مِنْ أَصْحَاب النَّبيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ مِنَ الْأَنْصَارِ ، قَالَ : قَالَ شُعْبةُ : أَوْ قَالَ : رَجُلٌ مِنَ الْأَنْصَارِ : أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ النَّبيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فِي صَلَاةٍ وَهُوَ يَقُولُ : " رَب اغْفِرْ لِي ، قَالَ شُعْبةُ : أَوْ قَالَ : اللَّهُمَّ اغْفِرْ لِي ، وَتُب عَلَيَّ ، إِنَّكَ أَنْتَ التَّوَّاب الْغَفُورُ " ، مِائَةَ مَرَّةٍ .
It is narrated from an Ansari (may Allah be pleased with him) that he heard the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) supplicating a hundred times in prayer: "My Lord! Forgive me and accept my repentance. Surely, You are the Acceptor of repentance, the Most Forgiving without limit."
