Hadith 23132

حَدَّثَنَا سُرَيْجٌ ، أَخْبرَنَا أَبو عَوَانَةَ ، عَنْ دَاوُدَ بنِ عَبدِ اللَّهِ الْأَوْدِيِّ ، عَنْ حُمَيْدِ بنِ عَبدِ الرَّحْمَنِ ، قَالَ : لَقِيتُ رَجُلًا صَحِب النَّبيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ كَمَا صَحِبهُ أَبو هُرَيْرَةَ أَرْبعَ سِنِينَ ، قَالَ : " نَهَانَا رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَنْ يَتَمَشَّطَ أَحَدُنَا كُلَّ يَوْمٍ ، أَوْ يَبولَ فِي مُغْتَسَلِهِ ، أَوْ تَغْتَسِلَ الْمَرْأَةُ بفَضْلِ الرَّجُلِ ، أَوْ يَغْتَسِلَ الرَّجُلُ بفَضْلِ الْمَرْأَةِ ، وَلْيَغْتَرِفَا جَمِيعًا " .
Humaid Himyari (may Allah have mercy on him) says that once I met a companion of the Prophet (peace be upon him) who had accompanied the Prophet (peace be upon him) for four years, just like Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him). He did not say more than three things to me: The Prophet (peace be upon him) said, "A man can perform ghusl (ritual bath) with water left over by a woman, but a woman should not perform ghusl with water left over by a man. Do not urinate in the bathhouse, and do not comb (beautify) yourself every day."
