حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بنُ جَعْفَرٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبةُ ، عَنْ أَبي بشْرٍ ، قَالَ : سَمِعْتُ يَزِيدَ بنَ أَبي كَبشَةَ يَخْطُب بالشَّامِ ، قَالَ : سَمِعْتُ رَجُلًا مِنْ أَصْحَاب النَّبيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يُحَدِّثُ عَبدَ الْمَلِكِ بنَ مَرْوَانَ أَنَّهُ قَالَ فِي الْخَمْرِ : إِنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ فِي الْخَمْرِ : " إِنْ شَرِبهَا فَاجْلِدُوهُ ، ثُمَّ إِنْ عَادَ فَاجْلِدُوهُ ، ثُمَّ إِنْ عَادَ فَاجْلِدُوهُ ، ثُمَّ إِنْ عَادَ الرَّابعَةَ فَاقْتُلُوهُ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Sharjeel bin Aws (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Whoever drinks alcohol, flog him; if he drinks a second time, flog him; if he drinks a third time, flog him; and if he drinks a fourth time, then kill him.
