Hadith 23126

حَدَّثَنَا عَفَّانُ ، حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبةُ ، قَالَ : عَاصِمُ بنُ كُلَيْب أَخْبرَنِي ، قَالَ : سَمِعْتُ عِيَاضَ بنَ مَرْثَدٍ ، أَوْ مَرْثَدَ بنَ عِيَاضٍ ، عَنْ رَجُلٍ مِنْهُمْ , أَنَّهُ سَأَلَ النَّبيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ عَنْ عَمَلٍ يُدْخِلُهُ الْجَنَّةَ ، فَذَكَرَهُ إِلَّا أَنَّهُ قَالَ : " تَكْفِيهِمْ آلَتَهُمْ إِذَا حَضَرُوهُ ، وَتَحْمِلُهُ إِلَيْهِمْ إِذَا غَابوا عَنْهُ ".
A man asked the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him), "O Messenger of Allah! Tell me about a deed that will admit me to Paradise..." Then the narrator mentioned the entire hadith and said: When people are present, protect their water-drawing vessels, and when they are absent (even if they have left), then pick them up and deliver them to them.
