Hadith 23086

حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ ، عَنْ سُفْيَانَ ، عَنْ أَشْعَثَ ، عَنْ عَمَّتِهِ ، عَنْ عَمِّهَا ، قَالَ : إِنِّي لَبسُوقِ ذِي الْمَجَازِ ، عَلَيَّ برْدَةٌ لِي مَلْحَاءُ أَسْحَبهَا ، قَالَ : فَطَعَنَنِي رَجُلٌ بمِخْصَرَةٍ ، فَقَالَ : " ارْفَعْ إِزَارَكَ ، فَإِنَّهُ أَبقَى وَأَنْقَى " ، فَنَظَرْتُ ، فَإِذَا رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، فَنَظَرْتُ ، فَإِذَا إِزَارُهُ إِلَى أَنْصَافِ سَاقَيْهِ .
It is narrated from a Companion (may Allah be pleased with him) that once I was in the market of "Dhu al-Majaz." I was wearing a beautiful red and white sheet on my body. Suddenly, a man poked me with his stick and said, "Raise your lower garment, for it lasts longer and remains clean." When I looked, it was the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), and when I observed, the lower garment of the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) was up to the middle of his shins.
