Hadith 23081

حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ ، حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ ، عَنْ عَبدِ الْكَرِيمِ الْجَزَرِيِّ ، عَنْ عَبدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بنِ أَبي عَمْرَةَ ، عَنْ عَمِّهِ ، قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " لَا تَجْمَعُوا بيْنَ اسْمِي وَكُنْيَتِي " .
It is narrated from the uncle of Abdur Rahman bin Abi Amrah (RA) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Do not combine my name and my kunyah (patronymic) together (i.e., that one person should take both my name and my kunyah)."
