حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ ، حَدَّثَنَا سُلَيْمَانُ بنُ الْمُغِيرَةِ ، عَنْ حُمَيْدِ بنِ هِلَالٍ ، عَنْ أَبي قَتَادَةَ ، وأبى الدهماء , قَالَا : أَتَيْنَا عَلَى رَجُلٍ مِنْ أَهْلِ الْبادِيَةِ ، فَقُلْنَا : هَلْ سَمِعْتَ مِنْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ شَيْئًا ؟ قَالَ نَعَمْ ، سَمِعْتُهُ يَقُولُ : " إِنَّكَ لَنْ تَدَعَ شَيْئًا لِلَّهِ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ ، إِلَّا بدَّلَكَ اللَّهُ بهِ مَا هُوَ خَيْرٌ لَكَ مِنْهُ " .
Abu Qatadah and Abu Dhamma say that we reached a Bedouin man who told us that once the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) took my hand and began to teach me those things which Allah had taught him, and said: "Whatever you leave out of fear of Allah, Allah Almighty will grant you something better than it."
