Hadith 23071

حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ ، حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ ، عَنْ عَبدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بنِ عَابسٍ ، عَنْ عَبدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بنِ أَبي لَيْلَى ، عَنْ بعْضِ أَصْحَاب مُحَمَّدٍ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، قَالَ : إِنَّمَا " نَهَى النَّبيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ عَنْ الْوِصَالِ فِي الصِّيَامِ ، وَالْحِجَامَةِ لِلصَّائِمِ ، إِبقَاءً عَلَى أَصْحَابهِ ، وَلَمْ يُحَرِّمْهَا " .
It is narrated from a Companion (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) forbade cupping and continuous fasting, but did not declare them unlawful so that permission for them would remain for the Companions.
