Hadith 22971

حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ ، حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ ، عَنْ عَبدِ اللَّهِ بنِ عَطَاءٍ ، عَنْ عَبدِ اللَّهِ بنِ برَيْدَةَ ، عَنْ أَبيهِ ، قَالَ : جَاءَتْ امْرَأَةٌ إِلَى النَّبيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، فَقَالَتْ : إِنِّي تَصَدَّقْتُ عَلَى أُمِّي بجَارِيَةٍ ، وَإِنَّهَا مَاتَتْ ، قَالَ : " آجَرَكِ اللَّهُ ، وَرَدَّ عَلَيْكِ الْمِيرَاثَ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Buraidah (may Allah be pleased with him) that a woman came to the service of the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and said, "O Messenger of Allah! I had given a slave girl in charity to my mother. My mother has passed away, so that slave girl has come back to me in inheritance." The Holy Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said, "Allah Almighty will grant its reward, and the slave girl has also come to you as inheritance."
