Hadith 22970

حَدَّثَنَا ابنُ نُمَيْرٍ ، أَخْبرَنَا الْأَعْمَشُ ، عَنْ أَبي دَاوُدَ , عَنْ برَيْدَةَ ، عَنِ النَّبيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ : " مَنْ أَنْظَرَ مُعْسِرًا ، كَانَ لَهُ كُلَّ يَوْمٍ صَدَقَةٌ ، وَمَنْ أَنْظَرَهُ بعْدَ حِلِّهِ ، كَانَ لَهُ مِثْلُهُ فِي كُلِّ يَوْمٍ صَدَقَةٌ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Buraidah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said: Whoever grants respite to a destitute (debtor), he will receive the reward of giving charity every day, and whoever grants respite after the appointed time has passed, he will receive the reward of giving in charity every day an amount equal to what he has lent.
