قَالَ أَبُو عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ: وَجَدْتُ فِي كِتَابِ أَبِي بِخَطْ يَدِهِ: حُدِّثْتُ عَنِ الْعَبَّاسِ بْنِ الْفَضْلِ (۱) الْوَاقِفِيِّ يَعْنِي الْأَنْصَارِيَّ مِنْ بَنِي وَاقِفٍ عَنْ قُرَّةَ بْنِ خَالِدٍ، حَدَّثَنَا بُدَيْلٌ حَدَّثَنَا شَهْرُ بْنُ حَوْشَبٍ عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ غَنْمٍ قَالَ: قَالَ أَبُو مَالِكِ الْأَشْعَرِيُّ: أَلَا أُحَدِّثُكُمْ بِصَلَاةِ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ قَالَ: وَسَلَّمَ عَنْ يَمِينِهِ وَعَنْ شِمَالِهِ ثُمَّ قَالَ: وَهَذِهِ صَلَاةُ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ وَذَكَرَ الْحَدِيثَ
Abu Abd al-Rahman said: I found in my father's book in his own handwriting: I was told from al-Abbas ibn al-Fadl (1) al-Waqifi, meaning al-Ansari from Banu Waqif, from Qurra ibn Khalid, Budayl narrated to us, Shahr ibn Hawshab narrated to us from Abd al-Rahman ibn Ghanm who said: Abu Malik al-Ash'ari said: Shall I not tell you about the prayer of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ? He said: And he gave salam to his right and to his left, then he said: And this is the prayer of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, and he mentioned the hadith.
