حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو عَامِرٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيٌّ يَعْنِي ابْنَ الْمُبَارَكِ ، عَنْ يَحْيَى بْنِ أَبِي كَثِيرٍ ، عَنْ زَيْدِ بْنِ سَلَّامٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي سَلَّامٍ ، قَالَ : قَالَ أَبُو مَالِكٍ , إِنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، قَالَ : " إِنَّ فِي أُمَّتِي أَرْبَعًا مِنَ الْجَاهِلِيَّةِ لَيْسُوا بِتَارِكِيهِنَّ : الْفَخْرُ بِالْأَحْسَابِ ، وَالِاسْتِسْقَاءُ بِالنُّجُومِ ، وَالنِّيَاحَةُ عَلَى الْمَيِّتِ ، فَإِنَّ النَّائِحَةَ إِنْ لَمْ تَتُبْ قَبْلَ أَنْ تَمُوتَ ، فَإِنَّهَا تَقُومُ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ عَلَيْهَا سَرَابِيلُ مِنْ قَطِرَانٍ ، ثُمَّ يُعْلَى عَلَيْهَا دِرْعٌ مِنْ لَهَبِ النَّارِ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Malik Ash'ari (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: There are four things from the time of ignorance which people will never abandon: boasting about one's lineage, finding fault with others' lineage, wailing over the dead, and attributing rain to the stars. And if a wailing woman does not repent before her death, then on the Day of Resurrection she will be made to stand in such a state that she will be wearing trousers of tar or a shirt of scabs (which will be made from the blazing flames of fire).
