Hadith 22854

It is narrated from Hazrat Sahl (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) used to lean against a trunk while delivering the sermon. One day, the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said, "The number of people has now increased. If there were something, I would sit on it." Hazrat Sahl (may Allah be pleased with him) was sitting, and Abbas says that his father went and cut wood from a place called Ghabah for the pulpit. Now I do not remember whether my father made it himself or had it made by someone for wages.
