It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) that Prophet Ibrahim (peace be upon him) brought with him Prophet Ismail and Lady Hajar (peace be upon them) and left them at the place in Makkah where the well of Zamzam is today. After that, the narrator mentioned the entire hadith and said that when Lady Hajar (peace be upon her) came from Marwah towards Prophet Ismail (peace be upon him), she saw a spring gushing forth. She began to build a wall around the spring with her own hands until the water collected in one corner. Then she filled her water-skin from the bowl. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "May Allah have mercy on her. If she had left the spring as it was, it would have continued to flow (and spread far and wide) until the Day of Judgment."
