حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ ، حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ ، عَنْ أَبِي حَازِمٍ ، عَنْ سَهْلِ بْنِ سَعْدٍ , وَعَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ , حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ ، عَنْ أَبِي حَازِمٍ ، عَنْ سَهْلِ بْنِ سَعْدٍ ، قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " التَّسْبِيحُ فِي الصَّلَاةِ لِلرِّجَالِ ، وَالتَّصْفِيقُ لِلنِّسَاءِ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Sahl (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: If a person senses a mistake in prayer, he should say "Subhan Allah," because clapping is prescribed for women and saying "Subhan Allah" is for men.
