Hadith 228

(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو مُعَاوِيَةَ ، حَدَّثَنَا الْأَعْمَشُ ، عَنْ إِبْرَاهِيمَ ، عَنْ عَلْقَمَةَ ، عَنْ عُمَرَ ، قَالَ : كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ " يَسْمُرُ عِنْدَ أَبِي بَكْرٍ اللَّيْلَةَ كَذَاكَ فِي الْأَمْرِ مِنْ أَمْرِ الْمُسْلِمِينَ ، وَأَنَا مَعَهُ " .
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) that it was the blessed practice of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) to go every night to Sayyiduna Abu Bakr (may Allah be pleased with him) for consultation regarding the affairs of the Muslims, and on one occasion I was also present at that time.
