حَدَّثَنَا عَبْد اللَّهِ ، حَدَّثَنَا إِسْحَاقُ بْنُ مَنْصُورٍ الْكَوْسَجُ ، أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يُوسُفَ ، حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ ثَوْبَانَ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، عَنْ مَكْحُولٍ ، عَنْ جُبَيْرِ بْنِ نُفَيْرٍ ، أَنَّ عُبَادَةَ بْنَ الصَّامِتِ حَدَّثَهُمْ ، أَنّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، قَالَ : " مَا عَلَى ظَهْرِ الْأَرْضِ مِنْ رَجُلٍ مُسْلِمٍ يَدْعُو اللَّهَ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ بِدَعْوَةٍ ، إِلَّا آتَاهُ اللَّهُ إِيَّاهَا ، أَوْ كَفَّ عَنْهُ مِنَ السُّوءِ مِثْلَهَا ، مَا لَمْ يَدْعُ بِإِثْمٍ ، أَوْ قَطِيعَةِ رَحِمٍ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Ubadah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Whenever any Muslim on the face of the earth supplicates to Allah for anything, Allah grants him that very thing or removes from him an equivalent amount of distress and hardship, as long as he does not supplicate for a sin or for severing ties of kinship.
