حَدَّثَنَا الْحَكَمُ بْنُ نَافِعٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا إِسْمَاعِيلُ بْنُ عَيَّاشٍ ، عَنْ يَزِيدَ بْنِ سَعِيدٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي عَطَاءٍ يَزيدُ بْنُ عَطَاءُ السَّكْسَكِيِّ ، عَنْ مُعَاذِ بْنِ سَعْدٍ السَّكْسَكِيِّ ، عَنْ جُنَادَةَ بْنِ أَبِي أُمَيَّةَ ، أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ عُبَادَةَ بْنَ الصَّامِتِ يَذْكُرُ , أَنَّ رَجُلًا أَتَى النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، فَقَالَ : يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ، مَا مُدَّةُ أُمَّتِكَ مِنَ الرَّخَاءِ ؟ فَلَمْ يَرُدَّ عَلَيْهِ شَيْئًا ، حَتَّى سَأَلَهُ ثَلَاثَ مِرَارٍ كُلُّ ذَلِكَ لَا يُجِيبُهُ ، ثُمَّ انْصَرَفَ الرَّجُلُ ، ثُمَّ إِنَّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، قَالَ : " أَيْنَ السَّائِلُ ؟ " فَرَدُّوهُ عَلَيْهِ ، فَقَالَ : " لَقَدْ سَأَلْتَنِي عَنْ شَيْءٍ مَا سَأَلَنِي عَنْهُ أَحَدٌ مِنْ أُمَّتِي ، مُدَّةُ أُمَّتِي مِنَ الرَّخَاءِ مِائَةُ سَنَةٍ " , قَالَهَا مَرَّتَيْنِ أَوْ ثَلَاثًا ، فَقَالَ الرَّجُلُ : يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ، فَهَلْ لِذَلِكَ مِنْ أَمَارَةٍ أَوْ عَلَامَةٍ أَوْ آيَةٍ ؟ فَقَالَ : " نَعَمْ ، الْخَسْفُ وَالرَّجْفُ وَإِرْسَالُ الشَّيَاطِينِ الْمُجَلِّبَةِ عَلَى النَّاسِ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Ubadah (may Allah be pleased with him) that a man came to the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and said, "O Messenger of Allah! What is the duration of ease for your Ummah?" The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) did not give him any answer. He asked the same question three times, and the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) did not answer him even once, until he went back. After a short while, the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said, "Where is that questioner?" The people called him. The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said to him, "You have asked me a question that no one from my Ummah has asked me before. The duration of ease for my Ummah is one hundred years." He repeated this two or three times. The man asked, "Is there any sign or indication of its ending?" The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said, "Yes! The earth sinking, earthquakes occurring, and devils being set upon the people."
