حَدَّثَنَا زَكَرِيَّا بْنُ عَدِيٍّ ، أَخْبَرَنَا عُبَيْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ عَمْرٍو ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عَقِيلٍ ، عَنْ عُمَرَ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ ، عَنْ عُبَادَةَ بْنِ الصَّامِتِ ، قَالَ : أَخْبَرَنَا رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ عَنْ لَيْلَةِ الْقَدْرِ ، فَقَالَ : " هِيَ فِي شَهْرِ رَمَضَانَ ، فَالْتَمِسُوهَا فِي الْعَشْرِ الْأَوَاخِرِ ، فَإِنَّهَا وَتْرٌ لَيْلَةِ إِحْدَى وَعِشْرِينَ ، أَوْ ثَلَاثٍ وَعِشْرِينَ ، أَوْ خَمْسٍ وَعِشْرِينَ ، أَوْ سَبْعٍ وَعِشْرِينَ ، أَوْ آخِرِ لَيْلَةٍ مِنْ رَمَضَانَ ، مَنْ قَامَهَا احْتِسَابًا ، غُفِرَ لَهُ مَا تَقَدَّمَ مِنْ ذَنْبِهِ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Ubadah bin Samit (may Allah be pleased with him) that he asked the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) about Laylat al-Qadr. The Holy Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "It occurs in the month of Ramadan. Seek it in the last ten nights of Ramadan, for it is in the odd nights—21st, 23rd, 25th, 27th, 29th, or the last night. And whoever stands (in prayer) on this night with faith and seeking reward, and he attains this night, then all his past and future sins are forgiven."
