Hadith 22759

It is narrated from Hazrat Ubadah (may Allah be pleased with him) that once I went to visit the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) when he was ill, and the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) was in such pain that only Allah knows its severity. When I visited again in the evening, the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) had completely recovered. Seeing this, I said, "When I visited in the morning, you were in such pain that only Allah knows its severity, and now when I have come, you are completely fine." The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said, "O Ibn Samit! Jibreel (peace be upon him) performed a ruqyah (incantation) on me with a mantra by which I was cured. Should I not teach it to you as well?" I said, "Why not?" He said, "These are the words: In the name of Allah, I perform ruqyah for you from every thing that may harm you, from the evil of every envious one and from every evil eye. In the name of Allah, may Allah grant you healing."
